Voltage and Temperature detection
Smart Battery Detection is a wireless battery voltage and temperature sensor for Victron MPPT Solar Chargers.
Thanks to the voltage and temperature sensing, the batteries will be charged better, thus increasing the charging efficiency of the batteries and extending their life.
Improves the charging capacity of batteries
By measuring voltage from the battery tank terminals, the errors encountered due to voltage loss due to the cable resistance are eliminated and the correct charging voltage is guaranteed.
In lead batteries, battery temperature data is used to adjust charge voltages. Cold batteries require a high charge voltage, while hot batteries require a low charge voltage. For lithium batteries, temperature data is used to stop charging when the battery is too cold. Charging a lithium battery near or below freezing can cause permanent damage to the cells.
No need to search for cables
A wireless connection can be established between the Smart Battery Detection unit and one or more Solar Chargers: This unit uses VE.Smart Network, a wireless technology based on Bluetooth Smart.
The transmitted information can be used simultaneously by one or more Solar Chargers connected to the same 12V, 24V and 48V battery tank. Smart Network is set up using the VictronConnect app.

Installation is simple, fast and tidy. Connect the two holes in the unit to the battery terminals and attach the Smart Battery Detection unit directly to the battery body using a self-adhesive tape.
